Remembering Zach
This is Zachary “Zach” Caflin. He was 23 when he went to be with our Lord on October 21, 2025. He passed while he was hiking, something he absolutely loved.
I am incredibly proud of my son—for the way he lived through Christ, loved life, and impacted the people around him. From the time Zach came into my life until the day we lost him, he inspired me to be a better father and to grow deeper in my own faith. The best way I can describe Zach is that he lived a big, joyful life. Whatever he did, he was “all in”—whether learning about ancient Greek history, gaming, 3-D printing, helping on youth retreats, or, most importantly, living out his faith.
Zach’s love for Christ began when he was a child and remained at the center of his life. He was deeply involved in his church community, participating in mission trips, youth retreats, and service projects, including a mission trip to Costa Rica. He loved serving behind the scenes as part of church technology teams and eventually took on a leadership role at Grace Church Bethlehem. Along the way, he built many lasting friendships. Most importantly, it was through church that Zach met his wife, Sabrina. Their friendship grew into love, and they were married in June 2025, just four months before his passing.
One of Zach’s most remarkable qualities was his ability to connect with almost anyone. He was genuine, welcoming, and never judgmental. When you spoke with Zach, you felt heard, accepted, and valued. He loved inviting people into conversation, encouraging them to join groups and church activities, sharing a meal, or simply spending time together. His passion was not just to talk about his faith, but to live it by bringing people together and helping them grow.
In 2025, Zach attended his first and only Priority One Men’s Weekends at Lake Champion with me. I am forever grateful that he said yes. He loved the experience so much that he immediately became an ambassador, determined to encourage other young men to attend. He carried 2026 Men’s Weekend promo cards with him and was always ready to invite another man to experience the weekend and grow in his faith.
Why We Created This Scholarship
In honor of Zach and his passion for connecting with others, creating meaningful connections, and encouraging people to grow in their faith, we are establishing the Zach Caflin Scholarship Memorial Fund. The scholarship will cover the full registration fee for a young man between the ages of 18 and 24 who would otherwise be unable to attend the Priority One Men’s Weekend event because of financial hardship.
We believe the future of our Christian faith depends on the next generation of young men. By removing financial barriers, we hope to carry forward Zach’s legacy by giving young men the opportunity to encounter Christ, deepen their faith, build lasting friendships, and grow into courageous Christian leaders who will positively impact their families, churches, and communities for years to come.
This scholarship is our way of honoring Zach—not only by remembering the life he lived, but by helping other young men experience the faith, fellowship, and joy that meant so much to him.
The Scholarship Fund
In honor of Zach and his passion for connecting with others and helping people grow in their faith, we are establishing the Zach Caflin Scholarship Memorial Fund.
The scholarship will cover the full registration fee for a young man aged 18–24 who would otherwise be unable to attend Priority One Men’s Weekend because of financial hardship.
